The firm has a significant practice in the area of trust and estate planning for high net worth individuals and families. The practice draws on the experience and expertise of the founding partners being among very few Jamaican attorneys in active practice who are members of the United Kingdom Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Both partners held executive positions in off shore trust companies in the British Virgin Islands for over 7 years. In addition to this legal and practical experience, the firm’s attorneys have developed relationships with Trust Practitioners in various other jurisdictions including Bahamas, Cayman, British Virgin Islands, Barbados, and the United States of America.

• The firm advises clients on the structuring of both their private and corporate affairs and assets to ensure a seamless transition of assets to their intended beneficiaries upon their death.
• We advise on the drafting of wills, the establishment of trusts domiciled in appropriate jurisdictions, the establishment of foundations, the establishment of appropriate purpose trust where applicable and the attendant’s relationships.
• Depending on the need of particular clients, we will facilitate relationships with reputable, well established trust companies and wealth managers around the world as appropriate.
• We will advise and assist clients on a complete basis including the appropriate overall structure for their needs, full incorporation of trust and associated companies domiciled in Jamaica or offshore.
• Our relationships with other jurisdictions allow us to facilitate advice being given to clients who may be citizens of the United States or other jurisdictions.
• In addition to advising on trust as a tool for estate planning and or by structuring corporate transactions, we also advise Professional Trustees. We have acted on behalf of the Trustees and Bond Holders of several of the major bond offerings and in particular those in which challenges have arisen.
